Neches River Festival SCholarships

Board Scholarship

The Neches River Festival Board Scholarship is a one thousand dollar scholarship that is awarded to SEVEN participants.   The Neches River Festival’s Executive Board chooses six senior Princess/Escort participants and one senior Duchess participant to receive the NRF Board Scholarship.  This scholarship is to help participants pursue their educational goals and achieve their higher education dreams.  

This scholarship is awarded based on a written essay, community involvement and educational goals. The scholarship money will be awarded to your school in your name.  Once you are awarded this scholarship please verify the college you will be attending in the fall and if you would like the total sum in the fall semester or divided up between fall and spring semesters.  Participants who have a parent on the Executive Board are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Otho Plummer Scholarship

The Neches River Festival, Inc. proudly supports Lamar University, our hometown university. Participants in the Festival may apply for one of two scholarships awarded each year through the Neches River Festival Otho Plummer Scholarship. All Festival participants, including Princesses, Duchesses and Escorts are eligible to receive the scholarship. For more information on Lamar University, please go to www.lamar.edu / participants will receive application instructions at the information meeting held in January.
